Take Off! was the first comic I made after graduating from illustration in 2010. It was an amalgamation of things I loved reading about growing up. Magic creatures, moody teens and strong bonds of friendship. It also became a project where I forced myself to learn how to draw backgrounds on a consistent basis, how to draw animals– really it taught me how *I* wanted to make comics.
Take Off! will always have a special place in my heart, and it makes me so happy when someone messages me to say the still re-read it from time to time.
